A fine Victorian milk ewer, London 1877, by Stephen Smith, the underside struck with a registered design lozenge and a pattern number '4900.'. The baluster body is applied with a decorative band with heads of Bacchus in circular frames between scrolling vine and grape decoration and Bacchic panthers. The sides of the handle are decorated with laurel leaves and stylised rose-heads.
